When something goes wrong during pregnancy, labour, or delivery, the effects don’t end in the hospital. A preventable birth injury can affect your child’s health, development, and independence — and reshape your family’s entire future.
At BTTJ, we help families across the UK understand whether mistakes were made, and what their legal rights may be. If you’re living with the long-term impact of negligent maternity care, it’s worth finding out if you can take action — and what compensation could do to support your child’s needs and your own peace of mind.
Speak to a member of our birth injury team and tell us your story. We listen without judgment and help you begin to understand whether a claim might exist.
If we believe there may be a claim, we gather records, consult medical experts, and keep you informed at every stage. We manage the process while you focus on your family.
Whether through compensation or simply answers, our goal is to help you find clarity and financial support so you can focus on your child’s future with confidence.
Use our Claim Checker now to find out if you have a valid claim.
No. We can help you request your records and review them as part of our free case assessment.
For children, claims can often be made until their 18th birthday, and then three years after that. For mothers, the time limit is generally three years from the date of injury or when you first became aware of it.
We offer no win, no fee representation. You pay nothing unless we win your case.
Most claims settle out of court. If yours does need to go further, we’ll support you throughout.
You don’t need to know the law. You don’t even need to be sure. Just tell us what happened, and we’ll let you know — simply, confidentially, and with no pressure to take things further.
Secure. Private. No Win, No Fee.
AH was born in 1990 following a series of missed opportunities to recognise a placental abruption and respond urgently. Despite concerning CTG readings and Mrs H’s previous history, neither the midwives nor the attending consultant acted fast enough. AH was eventually delivered by emergency caesarean — but by then, it was too late to prevent serious harm.
He suffered intrapartum brain damage and later developed asymmetric quadriplegic cerebral palsy. AH now lives with complex disabilities, including mobility issues, hearing loss, dysarthria, learning difficulties, and a need for 24-hour supervision.
Through joint settlement meetings, we secured £2.75 million plus lifetime annual payments starting at £45,000, increasing to £105,000, enabling AH to purchase and adapt a home and access continuous care for life.
We know how hard it is to revisit what happened. But if something went wrong during pregnancy or birth, you deserve the truth.
Our legal team will review your case for free and help you understand if a claim might exist — and what support may be available to you. All in confidence, and with compassion.
